Mercedes SLS convertible on its way?

These images are supposedly out of the German patent office and filed by Mercedes-Benz. Not so sure if I would want to have a convertible version of the SLS though. I mean, why waste the opportunity of having “gullwing” doors?!?!

How can that be with the Gulwing doors!! It loses its charm that way then!

Have you guys ever driven a convertible?!?! who give a sh!t about charm . . . it’s about being outside!

  The SLS is as much about the Gullwing doors as a convertible is about the outside… So it kinda cancells itsself out =/
