King Abdullah unveils the Gazal-1
I had posted some pics of a car designed by the Saudi Arabian King Saud University students called the Gazal-1 from the Geneva Motor Show last year. Their dream has now become a reality.
King Abdullah officially unveiled the production Gazal-1 on the 14th of June, with the production plans being 20,000 cars annually. The Gazal-1 is based on a Mercedes G-Class platform, and it is expected that the car will retain the G’s 5.5 liter V8 engine when going into production. The car is designed with the desert climate in mind and should be able to handle the terrestrial environment as well.
This is definitely a proud moment; not only for Saudi Arabia, but the whole region as well. More details will be posted once available.
