Paris Motor Show: Lotus brings 5 new concepts to life!
This is a long post so bear with me, but it’s definitely filled with 5 new concepts which should excite you!
Lotus Esprit
The return of the Lotus Esprit is something many of us have been waiting for! Packing a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 Lexus IS-F engine, it will produce 620 hp rocketing the car from 0-100 km/h in about 3.5 seconds with a 330 km/h top speed.
The Esprit will also use a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) which captures heat generated from the brakes and adds an extra boost in power via a driver-controlled button. The Esprit should debut in 2013 with a price tag of approximately $175,000 US dollars.
Lotus Elan
The new Elan should debut some time in 2013, with pricing expected to be aroundĀ $118,500 US dollars.
The Elan will be powered by a 450 hp supercharged 4.0-liter V6 Toyota engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h.
Lotus Elise
The Lotus Elise packs a turbocharged 2.0-liter 320 hp 4-cylinder engine sourced from Toyota.
Buyers will have the option of choosing a 6-speed manual or a paddle-shifted automatic gearbox.
Lotus Eterne
A 4-door Lotus???? You read that correctly. Expected some time in 2015, the Eterne sedan will be powered by a 620 hp, 5.0-liter V8 Toyota engine.
An optional hybrid package will be available with a KERS system, along with the option of choosing rear or all-wheel drive. The Eterne will hit 100 km/h from a standstill in approx. 4 seconds with a top speed of 315 km/h.
Lotus Elite
TheĀ Lotus Elite is a 4-passenger GT car powered by a modified version of the Lexus IS-F’s 5.0-liter V8 engine pumping out 611 hp. The Elite is expected to nail 100 km/h from a standstill in under 4 seconds. The Elite will also use a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS).

Damn! the Lotus Elan was supposed to be an affordable sports car, now look at the jacked up price on it.

[...] they even bother changing the Exige at this point? Seeing the new design direction applied to the 5 future models, the Elise – which the Exige is based on – is going to look completely different. Or did they mean [...]
