Yeah sure… when cars fly! (w/video)
Huh? Is this for real? Terrafugia, an American company, is set to begin production this year on a flying car called the Transition Roadable Light Sport Aircraft. The Transistion (in short) can transform from car to plane in only 30 seconds. It will be capable of flying at 185km/h, while a top speed of 105km/h is reachable on the road. Running on a full tank of regular gasoline, the Transition will be able to cover a flying distance of approximately 640 to 725km.
100 orders have already been placed according to Terrafugia. Buyers will need to have a pilots license and a certificate from their respective Civil Aviation Authority (I’m guessing in whichever region / country where it’s sold). Price? Roughly between £125,000 and £160,000 as a starting point. Watch the video after the jump.
