Launched! Audi R8 GT Spyder
When Audi first introduced the R8 GT, most of us were already drooling at the mouth. Now they’ve gone and chopped off the roof leaving us googoo gaga. It’s definitely one of the sleekest convertibles ever produced, benefiting from tasteful titanium gray aerodynamic parts, a front splitter with a dual lip, flics at the sides of the front bumper, an enlarged rear diffuser, dark LED tail lights, and red GT badging.
Power comes from the 5.2-liter V10 producing 560hp and 398lb-ft of torque, same as the coupe model. Audi believes that the R8 GT Spyder is more than capable of nailing a 0-100km/h time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of approximately 320km/h. Kiss your hair-do goodbye!
The trick to keeping this convertible so fast is Audi’s use of lightweight materials, such as Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP). The bucket seats also pitch in by dropping off 32 kilograms, bringing the total to 85 kilograms. Only 333 R8 GT Spyders will ever be produced, with pricing expected to be close to 207,800 Euro. Sadly, sexy was never going to be cheap.

Time for some more drooling!
The non-GT Spyder as seen in the Iron Man movie was also nice.

@Mathai: Drool on brother hehe
@Marzouq: So true, this car needs to be driven where the weather won’t set fire to its top.
@qabaq: Price is definitely too steep for an Audi; they have delved into some very exotic brand territory here.
