Two wings + two doors?
Looks like your typical Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, right? Think again…
These patent drawings were found on the German Patent and Trademark website, apparently filed by Mercedes-Benz. There has been no official word on what this car could be or if it would ever see the light of day, but it does provide a bit of insight as to how Mercedes-Benz and AMG could spin off a 4-door / 4 seater variant of the SLS AMG.
The car would retain its signature ‘gullwing’ doors, but it would also feature two suicide doors placed directly behind them for access to the rear seats. Aimed straight at Porsche’s Panamera? Or would it be a contender for Aston Martin’s Rapide? As always, your thoughts are appreciated.

Interesting…..would be cool to see! They did it right and started the trend with the CLS…..I think? Do these patent drawings come out for all car makers?

It could definitely work out, even though the rear suicide doors remind me of the Mazda RX-8. Patent drawings do tend to surface, but only when the media uncovers them.

Don’t get too excited. Most of the times they may not make it production..but it will be sweet if it does

I think the concept is interesting, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up on it making production; I do think that they’re assessing the idea, which is the exciting part. Let’s see what happens!
