Most expensive police sale in history to take place in Dubai

When the economic crisis struck, many cars were left abandoned by their owners in Dubai. Majority of these people just couldn’t afford to hold onto these cars anymore, let alone any of their other expensive purchases. Add the fact that being in debt is a crime in Dubai, and it makes sense why some of these people left their lives behind with no intention of returning.

This super-rare Ferrari Enzo was a victim of abandonment. And it’s now heading to the chopping block to take part in the most expensive police sale in history. The Enzo is said to belong to a British expat who was being chased for not paying his traffic fines. Guess he may have been laid off and didn’t have the means to maintain his exotic lifestyle.

The abandoned Enzo will join 22 other luxury vehicles in an auction, where ten of the impounded luxury cars belong to Emiratis, seven to Europeans, one to a Russian and the remainder owned by companies. It will be joined in the sale by three other Ferraris, as well as Porsches, Corvettes, Mercedes’, BMWs and Range Rovers.

Will the Dubai police be making some good money? It’s safe to say “yes”.

    I want to be at that sale!! When and where?

  2. el wehbi Says:

    The source states that it’s on Wednesday at 9am (no date, so I’m assuming it’s today)… so unless you’re in Dubai right now, you won’t be making it. Sorry buddy!

  3. zdistrict Says:

    Honestly you can’t blame them for doing that, but being in debt is a crime is a problem, it can’t be that way or everyone in the US would be in jail! lol

    Still they had to curb the ridiculous spending without the cash to maintain it, that is the problem they were facing in Dubai but it seems things are back on track now and they are making progress again. Inshalla things keep improving there.

    Are Frazier and Niles gonna be there ?

  5. el wehbi Says:

    @zdistrict: The fact that an owner of a Ferrari Enzo could not pay his traffic fines is just mind-boggling to me lol

    @El Jockey: Haha

    I wonder how much the Enzo sold for…
    Maybe a follow up story 😉
