Two 6-wheeler Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG trucks headed for the Middle East
It’s no secret that the Middle East has a romantic infatuation with the Mercedes-Benz G Wagon. You can pull up at a traffic light and chances are you will spot the boxy brute somewhere. So I guess it was only a matter of time before we’d see a truly customized variant of the G Wagon headed for our shores.
Meet the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG “6×6″. Snapped prior to being shipped out to their new home(s) in the Middle East, these two examples will be quite the rare sighting. One in white and one in a grayish hue.
The Australian military currently uses a similar six-wheeled G-Wagon within its arsenal, but it’s safe to say that these are the first civilian trucks produced. There has been no confirmation whether these two examples have been built by Mercedes-Benz for the client, or if they were customized by a coachbuilder.
No specs are available yet, but if the truck utilizes the G63 AMG’s standard twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 engine, then it’ll have plenty of oomph (544hp and 560lb-ft of torque) to back up its monstrous looks.
The bed in the rear of the pickup is laid with wood which shows that this unique project was thought through incorporating tasteful design cues.
The interior receives classy touches with red and white contrasting trim. The front seats also have screens built into the headrests for rear passengers use. This tells me that the car is not just to be utilized for hunting or extreme terrain purposes.
So who did it? Where’s it going? No clue. But one thing’s for certain, this is one pricey conversion and to pull something off like this requires deep pockets. Hope to catch it on the road one day!
