When the economic crisis struck, many cars were left abandoned by their owners in Dubai. Majority of these people just couldn’t afford to hold onto these cars anymore, let alone any of their other expensive purchases. Add the fact that being in debt is a crime in Dubai, and it makes sense why some of these people left their lives behind with no intention of returning.

This super-rare Ferrari Enzo was a victim of abandonment. And it’s now heading to the chopping block to take part in the most expensive police sale in history. The Enzo is said to belong to Read the rest of this post »

Lamborghini Urus is the name… destroying SUVs is the game

If you’re an avid reader of this blog, you’d know that more than a month ago I posted about Lamborghini unveiling its concept SUV… posting the news before any other world-renowned site, I might add, thanks to my source. So here it is: the “Urus” (the name, as always, is derived from the world of bulls).

The permanent, all-wheel drive 4×4 system will have no problem of connecting the engine’s 600hp output to the road. It’s also worth nothing that rumors have been circulating that the Urus could rock a forced-induction V8 engine at time of production, contradicting what most would expect since the brand has Read the rest of this post »

Although Mercedes-Benz revealed the 2013 G-Class a few days ago, I decided to not post about them until official pictures of the AMG versions were released. Mercedes did announce the new AMG variants, the G63 (replacing the G55 model) and G65, however they did not publish any images. They only showcased the G350 model. But now, the first pictures of the G63 have surfaced.

Styling changes for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG come in the form of a new front fascia with LED lights, new side steps and flared fenders. It also receives 20-inch wheels, with red brake calipers peaking out from behind them.

The AMG division blessed the G63 with a 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine with 544hp (37hp more than the G55). As for the V12 G65, that monster-ute will Read the rest of this post »

Shelby America has recently taken the covers off an insane Ford Mustang with over 1000bhp. Called the Shelby 1000, there will be two versions offered to the lucky few who have the cash to buy them. The first model is a street legal version running 950bhp with the help of regular fuel. The other model is a track version with 1100bhp on tap.

The Shelby 1000 gets a completely rebuilt 5.4-liter V8 engine with a Whipple supercharger, new mechanicals like a modified crank, a revised Read the rest of this post »

Video: Drag car explosion in Abu Dhabi

During a race event at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, this Camaro drag car experienced what is reportedly a nitrous explosion. At first, there’s a fireball which shoots out via the hood scoop. A crew member checks on it (foolishly without any protective gear), and then BOOM. I’m sure the team are just thankful that every one is still alive after this incident. Watch the video after the jump. Read the rest of this post »

The all-new 2013 SRT Viper has officially debuted at the New York Auto Show. Comprised of a much neater and tighter package, the Viper still retains its poisonous attitude while adding a lot of firsts for the car.

New to the Viper, the exterior recieves a new carbon fiber hood, roof, decklid and aluminum door panels which aid in weight reduction and high-speed stability. These weight-saving measures deserve a great power source, and they surely get Read the rest of this post »

F1′s Bahrain Grand Prix just can’t catch a break! Last year’s race was postponed due to protests and violence, eventually being canceled altogether for the 2011 season. Now, it seems likely that the race is under threat once again with a fresh round of protests taking place. This time though, the protesters are clearly after F1.

On Twitter, protesters have been using the hashtags #BloodyF1 and #noF1 to show their disapproval for the Read the rest of this post »

Tuned Audi RS6 Burns Down in Abu Dhabi

In case you didn’t read the title in the manner which I intended for it to be read, then please read it again to the tune of will.i.am’s song: T.H.E. Ok, now that we got that settled, this gentleman from Abu Dhabi did just that… no joke! He took his heavily-modified Audi RS6 for Read the rest of this post »

According to Road & Track, Ford has announced its plans to introduce a 4-door Mustang. Due to the Chevrolet Camaro’s strong sales and increase in market-share, Ford has decided that this “radical” move is the best way forward.

The article even goes on to say that possible hybrid and diesel variants could make it into production. Now, I don’t know about you but the Read the rest of this post »

The fun side to Abu Dhabi’s 2-seater F1 car experience

It has definitely been a slow week here on Brake Banzeen. Heck, it’s been a slow week pretty much everywhere in the auto news world! But I thought it would be good to show the other side to Yas Marina’s F1 2-seater experience in Abu Dhabi. If you remember a recent post of mine, I showcased a video of a woman being violently thrown around in the car because the pit crew didn’t properly secure her into the seat. Here is Harry Metcalfe’s (from evo Magazine) positive experience to counter that. Watch the video after the jump. Read the rest of this post »
