If you don’t know the Goodwood Festival of Speed, then you probably won’t understand why Jaguar would name this special concept version the “Goodwood”. But to those that do, it makes perfect sense. The annual festival takes place in West Sussex, England and hosts a wide range of historic and modern production vehicles and racing cars for a hill climb event. A fitting name for Jaguar because even though they have been overhauling the way their cars look, they don’t want to lose the brand’s rich historic heritage.

So at this year’s festival, Jaguar unveiled the Goodwood Special and it seems they received enough positive feedback to go for a limited production run. What differs? Other than some aero mods, the stock XKR apparently comes with a torque limiter used to prolong the life of the transmission. Well, for this savage cat, it’s been removed. What changes power-wise? How about 523 bhp and approximately 516 lb-ft of torque (according to Car Magazine). The suspension has been lowered sitting on massive 21-inch rims and just to make sure you hear it coming, the exhaust system has also been tweaked. Don’t be expecting this cat to purr.
